Studio Nima has been commissioned by Go Smile Uganda to provide advisory support to the establishment and expansion of social businesses working towards sustainable development of the ecological ecosystem in Uganda.

Dr. Aline Laucke and Leonhard Nima had the chance to support as Impact Subject Matter Experts several start-ups participating in the SDG Impact Accelerator programme brought by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP Türkiye.

Hydroponics Social Business Pilot

At Studio Nima we are currently working on a pilot project to make hydroponic food production an economically viable social business. We aim for circular, hyperlocal & low-environmental impact food production that offers nutritious food at fair prices all year-round. Hydroponics has the potential to drastically reduce the negative environmental impacts created through long supply chains and traditional food production.

No Going Back Art Series

To spread and share the No Going Back vision manifested by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof. Muhammed Yunus, Studio Nima teamed up with designer Rafael Bernardo to create an artwork for the Academia Report on Social Business. Now this artwork is available as a limited edition of 100 copies as a handprinted silkscreen, signed and numbered.

RESPOND Accelerator

RESPOND is a BMW Foundation accelerator program operated by UnternehmerTUM that aims to accelerate startups and empower leaders to take their business to the next level. The program supports entrepreneurs who are working towards a peaceful, just, and sustainable future in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The second cohort has just started and we are happy that Leonhard Nima is one of the key coaches for the RESPOND Accelerator again.

Social Businesses in the Ethiopian Textile Sector

Together with Yunus Environment Hub we have conducted a feasibility study to explore the Ethiopian textile industry. The study has been financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with the support of GIZ and sequa and in our role as founding members of CE4Africa e.V.
The aim of the study is to develop innovative social business solutions that address the problem of unutilized textile wastes that are produced within the textile production processes.
