Bio Living Lab @ Deutsches Museum
Munich, October 2-9, 2025

Our Bio Living Lab @ Deutsches Museum curated by Studio Nima is a wrap! Safe to say, the Bio Living Lab was a huge success, the feedback has been incredible. Visitors from all over the world and of all ages were stopping by, getting curious, inspired, and excited about the possibilities of bio-based innovation.

The Bio Living Lab brought together a diverse group of innovators showcasing biomaterials that range from packaging and building materials to leather and textile alternatives, made from algae, mycelium, bacteria, agricultural waste, and many others. But the Bio Living Lab was much more than just an exhibition, it’s a living, learning space. With interactive sessions and open formats, we have had visitors even bringing their own ideas for experiments and future materials, and this is what makes our Bio Living Lab alive. Things were growing on site and the area was constantly transforming.

We will soon share more details about all the exhibitors and various formats. In the meantime check out some impressions in the gallery.

Dive into the fascinating world of biomaterials!

The Bio Living Lab @ Deutsches Museum curated by Studio Nima invites you to explore some of the latest innovations in bio-based materials – from packaging and building materials to next-generation leather and textile alternatives. And make sure to explore our educational formats, including guided tours, workshops, and live experiments, that allow visitors to get a unique chance to experience these innovations hands-on.

Shoes made from mycelium? Packaging crafted from algae? Textiles made from agricultural byproducts? Find out how these innovations are advancing, what challenges remain, and the impact they could have on building a sustainable future. As part of the Bio Living Lab, we offer a curated exhibition highlighting pioneering solutions derived from nature.

The Bio Living Lab is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. The exhibition and educational formats are available in English and/or German. Please check the language specified for each program.
